Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. Much can, by its effectiveness, the supplication of the righteous. (James 5:16)
Think about it : Confessing our sins means that we do two things with our sin: 1) we acknowledge sin for what it is in God’s eyes and 2) let us leave aside our secrets and be honest with another Christian about our weaknesses, vulnerabilities, failures and sins. The language of James is powerful. He mentions that this confession brings not only forgiveness, but also healing.
Prayer: Holy Father, I have sinned. Now I confess my personal sin of ________________. I ask the Lord to forgive me and may his Spirit strengthen me to overcome temptation. I want to live for you and not to leave my sin, any sin, to get entangled and to take me from the Lord. Through the great name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
